On June 17, 2026, Shopify launched its Spring '26 Edition: over 150 new features all at once. It's impossible to keep track of everything, and frankly, unnecessary. Most won't change your daily life as a merchant. So, we've sifted through them for you: here are the 10 new features our agency has highlighted because they have a real impact on a store, with a special focus on the one that excited us most, the new Attribution tab.

150 New Features, 10 Selected: Our Approach
A Shopify edition is a fireworks display of announcements where gimmicks rub shoulders with features that add margin points. The theme of this Spring '26 is clear: sell everywhere, including in conversations with AIs. But behind the big headlines about agentic commerce, there are concrete tools that are rolling out now in your admin.
Our job as an agency is precisely this filtering. Out of 150 announcements, we've isolated 10 that deserve your attention as a merchant, and discarded everything else. No developer jargon, no features reserved for six-figure Plus accounts: only what can boost your revenue or save you time this year. This selection cross-references official Shopify announcements, community analysis, and our on-the-ground perspective as an agency that operates these features for its own brands.
"We test each edition first on our stores, Cabania leading the way, before recommending it to a client. A new feature that shines in a keynote but disappoints in production — we see that happen every edition. Our filter is this: does it hold up once connected to a real catalog, real traffic, a real media budget?" Volkier Bentinck, Co-founder of Stellar Projects
The 10 Spring '26 New Features Selected by Stellar
Here is our selection, ranked by impact for a classic e-commerce store. The first one is our favorite, and we dedicate an entire section to it right after.
- The Attribution Tab, Finally Native. Knowing which channel truly generates your sales, directly within Shopify, without third-party tools. This is the feature we've been waiting for for years: we detail it just below.
- WhatsApp Becomes a Native Marketing Channel. Campaigns and follow-ups directly in Shopify, with consent management. Shopify announces open rates around 90% compared to about 20% for email. A new retention lever to test without delay.
- Campaign Autopilot. AI launches your multichannel campaigns, optimizes them, and learns over time. You set the guardrails (budget, target, tone), it handles the execution. Useful for small teams without a full-time acquisition person.
- Sidekick Acts Within Your Apps. Shopify's AI assistant now works inside Klaviyo, Loop, Smile, or Judge.me. You ask it a question about an app, it answers; you ask it to perform an action, it does so, without changing tabs.
- An AI Salesperson on Your Store. From Shopify, an assistant recommends products based on the history of the customer connected to Shop. The equivalent of an in-store advisor, e-commerce version, to push the right product at the right time.
- Internal Search Forgives Typos. A customer who types "lether jacket" still finds the jacket. Fewer empty result pages, thus fewer lost carts due to a simple typo. Small detail, real impact on conversion.
- Your Products Purchasable in ChatGPT and Copilot. This is the famous agentic commerce: the customer can buy within the AI conversation, with Shop Pay, without opening your site. All this relies on a new standard, UCP (co-built with Google) and on Shopify Catalog, which properly exposes your product sheets to AI agents.
- Shipping and In-Store Pickup in a Single Cart. A customer orders two items, one delivered to their home, the other for in-store pickup, and pays in one go. Shopify also adds in-store returns. Essential for brands with physical and online presence.
- Cumulative Discounts on the Same Order. A percentage and a fixed amount on the same cart, natively, without workarounds or a dedicated app. No more circumventions to manage a slightly complex promotion.
- Market-Specific Discounts. Launch promotions by region, physical store, or B2B account, and even choose which size or color is visible by channel and market. A real gain for brands selling internationally or B2B.
- Shopify Capital Arrives in France. Financing repaid based on a percentage of your daily sales, with no fixed monthly payments or bank involvement. A cash flow option to be aware of for financing inventory or a campaign.
Attribution: Shopify Finally Tackles the #1 Headache
If there's one new feature to remember from this Spring '26, it would be this one. Shopify is adding an Attribution tab in the Growth section of the admin. It answers the question every merchant asks themselves every month without ever getting a clear answer: which channel truly brings me money?
Specifically, the tab displays, for a given period (e.g., the last 30 days), a graph of sessions by channel and a table that cross-references for each channel the number of sessions, revenue, and number of orders. In the screenshot we analyzed, we can read, for example: Organic Google Search with 4,883 sessions for €14,525 and 36 orders, Direct traffic with 3,638 sessions for €6,835 and 17 orders, and Paid Google with 2,521 sessions for €26,574 and 52 orders. In one view, you see not only where the traffic comes from but also which channel converts. Shopify also states that cost, click, and impression metrics now report for supported marketing apps, which opens the door to native ROAS calculation.
Why is this a big deal? Because attribution is the ultimate e-commerce headache. Between multi-device usage, the end of third-party cookies, iOS restrictions, and numbers that never quite match between Meta, Google Analytics, and Shopify, knowing who to attribute a sale to often feels like a crystal ball game.
"For Cabania, as for most of our agency clients, we are constantly looking for a simple, almost plug-and-play solution to read the real performance of each channel. Specialized tools like Polar Analytics are excellent, but their monthly cost puts them out of reach for many brands. If Shopify finally offers this native readability, without an additional paid layer, it's a real relief for thousands of merchants." Volkier Bentinck, Co-founder of Stellar Projects
We remain realistic, it's our job. Before replacing your current tool, three questions deserve an answer: what attribution model does Shopify apply (last-click or data-driven)? What is the conversion window used? And most importantly, does the tool truly reconcile actual advertising spending to provide a reliable ROAS? If the answer to this last question is yes, then Shopify removes much of the appeal of third-party tools for small and medium businesses. We are currently testing it on our own stores before recommending it with full confidence, but the direction is right. For a brand that doesn't have the budget for a Polar or a Triple Whale, this is potentially the first honest reading of its channels, free and within the tool it already uses.
What to Start With Right Now
No need to activate everything on the same day. Here's the order we recommend to our clients to take advantage of this edition without getting sidetracked.
- Open the Attribution tab (Growth section of your admin) and look at your last 30 days. Even imperfect, this first reading is better than no reading at all.
- Check Shopify Scripts. This is the hidden urgency of this edition: Scripts will stop working on June 30, 2026. If you use them to customize your checkout, you must migrate to Shopify Functions before this date, otherwise your customizations will break.
- Test a retention channel: activate WhatsApp or let Campaign Autopilot manage an initial campaign with a capped budget, to judge its performance.
- Prepare for agentic commerce by improving the quality of your product sheets (titles, attributes, visuals). This is what AI agents will read to recommend, or not recommend, your products.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Shopify Spring '26 Edition?
It's the release of new Shopify features announced on June 17, 2026, with over 150 functionalities. The guiding principle is to sell everywhere, including in conversations with AIs like ChatGPT and Copilot, with a strong focus on agentic commerce, AI-driven marketing, and new analytics tools.
Is the Attribution tab available on all plans?
Shopify rolls out these new features gradually. The easiest way is to check the Growth section of your admin to see if the Attribution tab has appeared. Cost and click metrics, for their part, report for supported marketing apps, so the granularity also depends on your integrations.
Does Shopify Attribution replace Polar Analytics or Triple Whale?
No definitive answer yet. For a simple reading of converting channels, the native tool may be sufficient for many SMBs, for free. For advanced multi-touch attribution, custom windows, and fine reconciliation of media spending, specialized tools still have the advantage. Everything will depend on the attribution model adopted by Shopify, which needs to be confirmed through use.
Do I need to do anything with Shopify Scripts?
Yes, if you use them. Shopify Scripts will stop working on June 30, 2026. Affected checkout customizations must be migrated to Shopify Functions before this date to avoid any checkout disruptions.
Is Shopify Capital really available in France?
This edition announces the arrival of Shopify Capital in France. The principle: financing repaid based on a percentage of your daily sales, with no fixed monthly payments. As with the rest, the deployment is gradual, to be checked in your admin.
This edition confirms a fundamental trend: Shopify is internalizing functions that yesterday were handled by paid apps, from attribution to automated marketing. Good news for your stack and your budget, provided you know what's worth activating. If you'd like us to audit your store in light of these new features, let's discuss your project.
