A common anecdote about setting up shipping options on Shopify concerns a small artisan jewelry boutique based in Paris, called "Bijoux Élégants". The owner, Clara, decided to expand her customer base by offering international shipping options. Thanks to a Shopify agency, she was able to configure specific shipping rates for the United States and Canada. For each zone, she defined weight-based rates for items, to ensure her profit margin was not reduced by unforeseen shipping costs. For example, Clara applied a flat rate of €10 for shipments under 500 grams to the United States and offered free shipping for orders over €100. Not only did her sales increase, but she was also able to build loyalty with new international customers who were satisfied with the transparency and shipping options offered.
