Prestashop to Shopify Migration

Embryolisse

Stellar spearheaded the migration of Embryolisse, an iconic French dermo-cosmetic brand since 1950, from PrestaShop to Shopify, leveraging the brand platform previously developed with the agency.

The project included: applying the new graphic charter, preserving the reassuring codes of parapharmacy (blue and white) while injecting modernity, contemporary typography, and shades of beige; redesigning product pages and transforming bestsellers into genuine educational micro-sites to highlight dermatological expertise; and SEO and CRO optimizations to boost conversion with a constant media budget.

Trusted Dermo-cosmetics since 1950

An iconic French pharmacy brand

Embryolisse is a French dermo-cosmetic institution, recognized for over 70 years for its effective, gentle, and universal formulas. Born in 1950 in the laboratories of Paris hospitals, the brand was created by dermatologists to meet the needs of the most sensitive and demanding skin types. Its iconic product, Lait-Crème Concentré, has become a staple for professional makeup artists worldwide and a multi-purpose cult product adopted by millions of users. Embryolisse embodies accessible, effective, and no-frills dermo-cosmetics, formulated with proven active ingredients and sensory textures that combine dermatological performance with user pleasure.

Technical and strategic challenges

The brand had a site developed with PrestaShop that encountered numerous problems: difficulties in updating content, complex and costly maintenance, and the inability to easily evolve the platform. The site also had many technical implementation errors with a significant negative impact on usability and natural search engine optimization. A deep aesthetic overhaul was necessary to modernize the brand image, visually differentiate itself from distributors, attract new customers, and convince commercial partners. Finally, to increase sales with a constant media budget, it was imperative to boost the store's conversion rate and optimize natural search engine optimization in the brand's specific semantic field.

Modernized identity and enriched pages

Having previously worked on the Embryolisse brand platform, Stellar applied the new graphic charter to the e-commerce site. We retained the brand's strong signifiers (blue and white, the reassuring codes of the pharmacy) while injecting modernity with a contemporary typography, new subtle shades of blue and beige to bring softness and elegance, and redesigned iconography. We paid particular attention to consumer reassurance, especially on product pages and iconic best-sellers. Our goal was to transform these pages into true micro-sites with rich, exclusive, and educational content, exhaustively answering all customer questions and fully showcasing the brand's dermatological expertise.
