Shopify Pricing 2026: A Clear and Updated Comparison. With Shopify, it's possible to create an online store in just a few clicks. The platform's promise is to offer any merchant the ability to launch an e-commerce business without advanced technical knowledge. Shopify is a very accessible e-commerce SaaS software, manageable by most people. However, the service is not free. Creating an e-commerce site with Shopify has a cost, which depends on the selected subscription. Customers can choose between the Basic, Grow, or Advanced plans. All of these have different prices and features. How much does Shopify cost in 2026? We provide you with the updated Shopify prices in € and card fees and commissions, along with the advice we actually give our clients on choosing a plan.

Creating your online store with Shopify

Shopify has over a million active users worldwide. Over the years, this e-commerce CMS has become one of the main references for creating online stores. This SaaS solution is very easy to use: any e-merchant, even with very basic computer skills, can launch their project seamlessly. All you need to do is configure the various technical aspects (updates, server, domain name, etc.) to have a site ready to sell.

The only difficulty sometimes lies in customizing pages and optimizing conversion. This is where a specialized Shopify agency comes in: to go beyond simple configuration, and build a high-performing store consistent with your brand identity.

What are Shopify prices in 2026?

In France, Shopify 2026 prices for monthly payments are: Basic €36 / month, Grow €105 / month, Advanced €384 / month. For annual payments, you save up to 25%: Basic €25 / month, Grow €66 / month, Advanced €289 / month. Additional fees may apply depending on the options and applications installed. Shopify Plus, for large enterprises

Shopify Plus is a solution for high-volume brands and businesses with complex structures. 2026 price: starting from €2,100 / month (3-year commitment). With Shopify Plus, you can enjoy advanced features: 200 inventory locations, multiple markets, native B2B, fully customizable payments, unlimited staff accounts, and priority 24/7 phone support. Starter, the option dedicated to new sellers

Conversely, e-merchants who are just starting out can opt for the Starter option. Price: €5 / month. This option is for people who have products to sell but do not yet have a brand or website. They can simply add a photo and a brief description of the product or service sold on Starter to get started.

Starter offers e-merchants the ability to:

  • manage their orders in one place on an admin interface,
  • analyze sales data,
  • ask questions to an assistant.

Apps

To add additional features, you can download apps from the Shopify App Store. Many of them are free, but others are paid and range from $7 to over $60 per month. You will therefore need to include their cost in the monthly plan price in your overall budget.

Focus on additional fees to consider

When creating their e-commerce site, the owner must also plan for other costs, in addition to the fees for their Shopify plan. In this case, they must purchase a domain name. Through Shopify, starting prices are generally close to ten euros per year depending on the extension. A budget should also be allocated for potential email accounts.

On Shopify, many themes are free. If the entrepreneur is looking for a differentiating design, they can visit the Shopify theme store and purchase a premium design. Theme prices vary from $60 to nearly $200. For a complete overview of the budget to plan, including themes, apps, and custom development, consult our detailed guide on the cost of creating a Shopify site.

Finally, for some plans, there are payment gateway or credit card processing fees. These charges apply if the site owner offers credit card or PayPal payments to their customers, and vary depending on the selected subscription.

Monthly vs. Annual Prices (up to -25%)

Plan Monthly Payment Annual Payment (up to -25%)
Basic €36 / month €25 / month
Grow €105 / month €66 / month
Advanced €384 / month €289 / month
Plus starting from €2,100 / month starting from €2,100 / month (3-year commitment)

Card fees and commissions by plan

Here are the online card rates via Shopify Payments in France and the commission applied if you use a third-party payment service provider (Stripe, PayPal, etc.).

Plan Online Card Rate (Shopify Payments) Third-Party Provider Commission
Basic 1.5% + €0.25 2%
Grow 1.3% + €0.25 1%
Advanced 1.1% + €0.25 0.6%
Plus Negotiated rates based on volume Negotiated rates based on volume

The choice of Shopify plan therefore depends as much on the monthly budget as on the expected transaction volume: for large volumes, the reduction in commissions on Advanced can offset the price difference with Grow. The question remains at what level, which is precisely what we detail below.

Beyond the prices, consult our agency's verdict on the platform: a 9/10 rating and actual costs observed with our clients.

Which Shopify plan do we recommend at Stellar?

For our typical clients, we recommend the Grow plan by default, with annual payment to benefit from the 25% discount (€66 / month). It covers almost the same functionalities as higher-tier plans for everyday use, and it adds 5 administrator accounts, useful as soon as a small team manages the store daily.

Conversely, we generally find it difficult to justify an Advanced plan. Functionally, the difference with Grow remains marginal for most merchants. The real question is not "Does Advanced have more features?" but "at what volume does the commission difference repay the subscription difference?". And this is a calculation, not an intuition. To gauge the overall budget beyond just the subscription, also see how much a Shopify agency costs.

At what revenue threshold should you upgrade to Advanced?

The answer depends on each brand: primarily on overall revenue, average order value, and the payment service provider(s) (PSP) used. Let's take a fairly classic case: a French merchant on Shopify Payments, with an average order value of €50, and payments predominantly by standard card. The question to ask is simple: from what revenue does it become relevant to upgrade to Advanced? Here's the reasoning.

  • Annual subscription difference: €289 (Advanced) minus €66 (Grow) = €223 / month.
  • Savings on standard card commissions: 1.3% (Grow) minus 1.1% (Advanced) = 0.2% of revenue. The fixed part of €0.25 per order is identical for both plans, so it doesn't play a role.
  • Switchover threshold: 223 / 0.002 = €111,500 in monthly revenue processed by standard online card.
  • At this level, the average order value of €50 has no impact on the calculation (the fixed part cancels out). It merely serves to visualize the volume: 111,500 / 50 ≈ 2,230 orders per month.

Two nuances to keep in mind:

  • This threshold only applies to standard card transactions. Amex, international, PayPal, or Klarna have other differences (for example, Amex: 2.6% vs. 2.4%, also 0.2%). If a significant part of the revenue comes through these methods, the threshold decreases slightly.
  • Advanced also offers additional features (advanced reports, more local currencies, real-time carrier rates) that may justify the upgrade before the purely financial threshold.

In summary: below approximately €111,500 in monthly card revenue, Grow remains more profitable. Above that, Advanced becomes more advantageous.

Which Shopify plan for B2B sales?

For B2B, the right plan depends on the complexity and sophistication level of the need. Three main avenues emerge:

  • Shopify Plus and its integrated B2B channel, for the most advanced needs (€€€).
  • Shopify Grow coupled with a specialized third-party solution like Sparklayer, a good functional compromise (€€).
  • Shopify Grow alone, relying on Shopify's native B2B features, for a simple need (€).

Shopify Partner commissions, our position

A point few merchants know: Shopify Partners (agencies, freelancers, etc.) receive a recurring commission on Shopify subscriptions sold to their clients. The more expensive the plan, the higher the monthly commission received by the service provider.

At Stellar, we consider this an ethical issue. We never recommend an oversized plan to a client: the right plan is one that matches their volume and actual needs, not one that maximizes our commission. This is also why we recommend Grow by default, and Advanced only when the numbers justify it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Shopify plan is best for starting out?

For a first launch, the Basic plan is usually sufficient. The Grow and Advanced plans become relevant when the site grows and requires more options or automations.

At what revenue does the Advanced plan become profitable?

For a French merchant on Shopify Payments primarily processing standard card payments, Advanced becomes more profitable than Grow around €111,500 in monthly card revenue. Below this, the commission difference (0.2%) does not offset the €223 additional subscription fee. Above this, Advanced is more advantageous. The threshold decreases if a portion of the revenue comes from Amex, international transactions, PayPal, or Klarna.

Is there a price difference between monthly and annual billing?

Yes. By choosing the annual subscription, Shopify applies up to a 25% discount. This is an interesting solution if you plan to stay on the platform for at least a year.

Do the displayed prices include credit card payment fees?

No. Payment-related fees (via Shopify Payments or an external provider) are added to the monthly plan cost.

How do Basic, Grow, and Advanced differ?

All allow you to sell online with a complete website. Grow adds more staff accounts and advanced reports, while Advanced offers very detailed reporting tools and carrier-calculated shipping rates.

Can I change my plan during my subscription?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan. For annual payments, you simply need to check the prorata or commitment conditions.

Who is Shopify Plus for, and what is its price?

Shopify Plus is reserved for large brands or sites with high traffic and international sales. Prices start from €2,100 per month depending on the contract.

Is the Starter offer at €5 sufficient for selling?

It allows you to sell on social networks or via a direct link without creating a complete website. For a structured e-commerce business, a higher plan will be necessary.

What is the average price of a Shopify app?

Some are free, but many cost between €7 and €60 / month. The budget will depend on the desired features.

How can I be sure to choose the right plan?

By evaluating your feature needs, sales volumes, and medium-term strategy. For most brands, Grow annually is the best starting point, and the decision to switch to Advanced should be based on revenue, not intuition.
